Welcome to Beginnings Therapy website
Therapy is more than just a quick fix. It's about giving you the tools to live a healthier, and happier life and to help bring about lasting and positive changes. At the beginning of therapy, an assessment is made and we will talk about what your therapy needs are any worries or concerns you have and then we create a plan and a and a way forward together.
I understand that asking for help can be difficult sometimes and believe me I have asked for help myself. I know that therapy helped me when I was struggling in my life and as part of my training I have also had more personal therapy.
Because of my life experiences I understand how much work this can be but because of this I also know that there are solutions and that by recognising, owning and experiencing our emotions we move through them to success. Sometime we can't see what is blocking our progress and therapy can help you identify what these might be
My aim is to provide a therapy that is informed and able to work in an integrated way
by combining the different theories and techniques of CBT, Psychotherapy, and
Hypnotherapy that is based on the individual needs of anyone who comes to me for therapy.
Among other things I am
able to offer therapy for trauma, depression and the anxiety disorders. (Such
as OCD, Social anxiety, other phobias, GAD, Emetophobia, eating disorders,
panic disorder, health anxiety, PTSD) I have also experience of providing CBT
for ticks and Tourette’s syndrome, and have worked with adults and young people
who have or are self-harming. My experience covers working with people who have
a diagnosis of ASD or have a learning difficulty.
I also offer on-line therapy and home visits
On-line therapy is the delivery of mental health counselling via the Internet. People also know it as e-therapy, distance therapy, Internet therapy and web therapy. Therapists and online therapy networks use a variety of mediums such as apps for texting, video chatting, voice messaging and audio messaging.
Studies have proven the efficacy of therapy via the internet to the point where it has become a viable alternative and supplement to in-office therapy.
- Unfortunately Smoking Cessation is charged in advance of sessions (please ask me about this) Often one session is all that is needed but sometimes 2 is better and I do offer a follow up. For this treatment the session is normally 90 minutes because an assessment is completed before the hypnosis.

Hypnotherapy is a state of very deep relaxation that is extremely powerful. From a way of finding relaxation and to help reducing stress, to increasing your confidence and reducing your anxiety. Hypnosis Together with Psychotherapy and the help of your therapist you can achieve positive & lasting results.
What is Cognitive behavioural therapy or CBT
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by developing new ways of thinking and behaviours that enhance your life. It can help you identify what needs to change.
It's most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, but can be useful for other mental and physical health problems. CBT is a helpful therapy that is structured and can help those unhelpful thoughts which can result in circular thinking and which make it difficult for you to see things in a positive way. By working together we can identify these and the reasons behind them and what might be that is stopping you from moving forward with your life
